november 2021 club meeting
a focus on horticulture: seasonal containers

'Planting Containers for Fall and Winter' with Amy Dolan of Outdoors Contained

On a beautiful Fall day, club members gathered underneath the Pavilion at Rye Recreation Grounds to be inspired and educated by Amy Dolan, founder of local business 'Outdoors Contained'.

Amy created 3 different containers using a mixture of living and cut material. She provided expert guidance on how to achieve a pleasing visual composition, taking into consideration the viewing angles and plant combinations.

After the demonstration, names were drawn from a hat and three attendees were lucky enough to each win one of the arrangements to take home!

In addition to the demonstration, members enjoyed seeing this month's Tea Cup Challenge entries, hearing from our Floral, Horticultural and Photographic Chairs about exciting upcoming activities. Following the meeting, members enjoyed mingling and refreshments.
