september 2021 club meeting
reconnecting and community stewardship

There was a buzz in the air as members came together for the first meeting of the Club's year, that was not solely due to the bees enjoying Jean's beautiful gardens! It was wonderful to reconnect with fellow members after a long, busy Summer and conversation, along with much laughter, abounded.

Cheryl shared the success of her flower pressing workshops and Chris shared her passion for all things floral with the introduction of the Tea Cup Challenge (see 'Floral Design' for more details) and Flower Flashes!

Rosario then shared with us her passion for Community Stewardship and the exciting evolution of our civic space, including addressing the challenge of watering (Hooray!!) and encouraging members to get involved in a way that best suits their skillset and ability. A handbook for members will soon be published that will provide information on our evolving sites and some of their history.

The meeting was followed by a delicious and beautiful lunch put together by Josie Beary, Kathy O'Hare, Marianna Amato, Dolores Eyler and Chris Duncan. Cheryl Adler added some extra flourish with home pressed edible flowers to Josie's cake to make it look as pretty as it was delicious!

A final extra pleasure was a 'September Table' where members shared beautiful produce and flower art from their gardens. Those helping later with clean up were lucky enough to sample the wares.

We look forward to coming together again at the October meeting!
