STANDING RULES
The following Standing Rules of the Little Garden Club of Rye, Inc. were adopted by the Board of Directors of the corporation on the 8th day of September, 2003 and amended by the Board of Directors on the 13th day of September, 2004.
1. GARDEN CLUB OF AMERICA NATIONAL MEETINGS8
As a member of The Garden Club of America (GCA), the President and certain committee chairmen of The Little Garden Club of Rye (LGC) are expected to attend various GCA national meetings throughout the year. To ensure attendance, LGC will cover the following expenses in connection with GCA national meetings:
A. GCA Annual Meeting: The President, and other member designated by the President, who attends the GCA annual meeting, will be reimbursed for registration fees, reasonable travel expenses, and lodging in a double occupancy room.
B. Annual Horticulture Meeting: The Chairman of the Horticulture Committee, or other member designated by the President, who attends the GCA annual horticulture meeting, will be reimbursed for registration fees, reasonable travel expenses and lodging in a double occupancy room.
C. Annual Legislative Meeting: The Chairman of the Conservation Committee, or other member designated by the President, who attends the GCA annual legislative meeting, will be reimbursed for registration fees, reasonable travel expenses, and lodging in a double occupancy room.
D. Other Meetings: Any committee chairman, or other member designated by the President or Board, who attends a meeting which is required by GCA, will be reimbursed for registration fees, reasonable travel expenses, and lodging in a double occupancy room.
E. Any LGC member, who is an elected officer of GCA, will not be reimbursed by the LGC for any expenses relating to attendance at GCA meetings.
2. GARDEN CLUB OF AMERICA ZONE MEETINGS
As a member of The Garden Club of America (GCA), the President and certain committee chairmen of The Little Garden Club of Rye (LGC) are expected to attend various GCA Zone III meetings throughout the year. To ensure attendance, LGC will cover the following expenses in connection with GCA Zone III meetings:
A. Zone III Annual Meetings: The President and any member designated by the President, who attends the GCA Zone III annual meeting, will be reimbursed for registration fees, reasonable travel expenses, and lodging in a double occupancy room (if necessary.)
B. Other Zone III Meetings: Any committee chairman, or other member designated by the President or Board, who attends a meeting which is required by the Zone III chairman will be reimbursed for registration fees, reasonable travel expenses, and lodging in a double occupancy room (if necessary.)
C. Any LGC member, who is an elected Zone III officer, will not be reimbursed by the LGC for any expenses relating to attendance at GCA meetings.
3. FLORAL ARRANGEMENT EXPENSES
Any member, designated by the President, who creates a floral arrangement which is required by Zone III for a zone meeting or zone flower show, will be reimbursed for the costs of live materials up to $200.00. Any member who creates a floral arrangement for any other show or meeting will not be reimbursed for labor or materials; even though the arrangement represents LGC as an entry or was made by the member at the request of LGC.
4. OTHER REIMBURSABLE EXPENSES
No member will be reimbursed by LGC for any expense incurred in connection with any club activity without a receipt and the prior approval of a committee chairman or the President.
5. BOARD MEETINGS
All committee chairmen are expected to attend monthly meetings of the board. At the monthly meetings, each committee chairman should be prepared to present a status report to the board of all committee activities.
6. MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS
Members and provisional members are required to attend no less than one-half of all monthly meetings and to participate in the activities of the club.
